As needs arise across our teams, we post typically within our Facebook group for guest players to assist. Each league has different expectations around this, but for men's and coed it's quite less restrictive and we seek guest players mainly for safety and ensuring we have a full team to compete versus only to win. Guest players are prioritized and assigned subjectively based on what the teams need, though certainly at times they just need anyone willing. Priority typically goes to paid members, current rostered players within our network and paid guest pass holders. Guest playing is a great way to try a team out too without the full commitment.
Our teams always wear royal blue, and gray/white is the back up unless otherwise noted when assigned to play. It is required that you bring both to each game. If the team wears a different color that will be noted in the guest playing outreach. Most of our leagues do not require uniforms/numbers on the shirt, it is a requirement you'll be informed.
Shin guards, soccer socks and cleats are mandatory. No metal spikes. 99% of our games are on state of the art turf, normal molded cleats are optimal and turf cleats are welcomed too, but flat shoes are not recommended. You may wear any color shorts and socks.
Subbing color exceptions:
Wild Gray Ducks, primary: Kelly Green, Gray Ducks Black, primary: Black, All others Royal Blue and Gray.
Be sure you know where you're playing. Look up the site, and if you're unsure if it's correct, ask the team manager you're working with to confirm the address you found is correct. Do the extra work on your end to look up the site. Not sure where one is? Check out the this link. Typically you receive a calendar invite when subbing, in that is the address usually as well as whether the facility is indoor or outdoor.
Arrive 10+ minutes in advance of the time mentioned as the time mentioned is the kickoff time. Be sure you ask any questions 4hrs plus in advance, the assignor for subs may not also be playing.
Be sure you know the format and the rules for the league you're subbing on.
7v7 Rules are Here for Coed and Mens Teams within CSC
11v11 Mens Rules are Here within MPRB
11v11 Coed Rules are Here within MPRB
6v6 Womens Rules are Here within Soccer Blast
There is no slide tackling permitted in any of the coed or men's leagues.
We play rain or shine, hot or cold... any game cancellations will occur at the field as it is very rare. 99% of our games are on artificial turf and the conditions tend to permit play.
Always beware of parking, and plan to arrive early. Do not bring valuables or store them.
You're a guest player, you are appreciated for attending, however you must share playing time, and you should not be starting the game unless the team is short players or you're asked to. You may be asked to play a position you may not normally desire to, you must be accept that duty or please do not accept subbing opportunities. Failure to consider this will result in few opportunities. If you earn a yellow card you may excluded from some future opportunities and if you receive a red card you will never be eligible for guest playing again.
Typically a calendar invite needs to be issued to you in order to play. Please ask for one if you have not received one. If your ability to play changes, you must alert the team manager ASAP to ensure another person can take your spot. Not showing up to a game you committed to may result in a 1 year ban on guest playing. We take this very seriously because of the time that goes into this, and that you likely took someone else's desire to play and it is an all too often abuse we face by guest players.
To play in any of our activities you must have a completed waiver, that varies by the league:
7v7 Coed and Mens in CSC, you must create a profile at cscsports.com if you do not have one
6v6 Womens at SoccerBlast must complete their waiver here.
No waiver presently required for 11v11 coed or mens.
All 11v11 and 7v7 womxn's waivers are completed with the credential process.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Ryan Adams if you have an issue whether on site or before/after. If you are sent to sub, a team cannot reject you from playing. If they do, and you're not comfortable asserting your right to play, please ask for that persons name and report the issue. You may be asked to show proof you've been sent to play, a message from the assignor or calendar invite is sufficient.
While our website is usually up to date, the best way to engage in our soccer adventures is to join our Facebook Group. We play year round, with teams forming and reforming every 8-10 weeks.
